FORECAST UPDATED 10:02 PM WEDNESDAY

Light snow will diminish to flurries early this evening. Total snow accumulations will hover in the 4-6" range. We'll get a break from the snow tomorrow and Friday before a significant winter storm impacts the area over the weekend.

Snow flurries will take us into tomorrow morning. Little to no additional snow accumulation is expected after midnight. Road surfaces will take some time to recover. The west southwest breeze will die down as low temperatures settle near 20°.

Mostly cloudy and slightly warmer tomorrow. Our average high temperature is 28°. We should do that with a light west breeze.

We'll see some sunshine Friday morning before clouds roll in through the afternoon. A south breeze will pick up out ahead of our next weather system. That south breeze will help to transport moisture into the area. Some fog, drizzle or flurries are possible with high temperatures in the low 30s.

Looking ahead, light rain, freezing rain and snow showers are possible Saturday as moisture streams into the region. This is not the main event. That will occur Saturday night into Sunday morning. Still, light snow accumulations are possible Saturday as high temperatures reach for the low 30s.

The strongest winter storm of the season so far will impact the region Saturday night and Sunday with mixed precipitation. All snow is expected north of Highway 8 with a rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow combination further south. Significant snow and ice accumulations are expected with this system. High winds will also be a factor contributing to power outages. Travel will become difficult if not impossible Sunday morning across much of north central Wisconsin. Blizzard like conditions are possible into Sunday evening before things quiet down Monday.

MAKE it a GREAT Day!
