Lac du Flambeau - The search for Calvin Lee Wolfe Sr. was set to begin about 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lac du Flambeau. Unfortunately, that search was called off.
Wolfe was last seen November 14, although his disappearance was not reported to police until November 19. Multiple searches for Wolfe took place with many area agencies joining in the effort.
Around 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, Newbold Search and Rescue found Wolfe's body with their canine search unit. Shortly after, authorities notified Wolfe's family and called off further search efforts.
Sheila Flores, Wolfe's mother, released a statement on behalf of the family saying in part, "We are devastated, but we are thankful and relieved that Calvin has been found. We would like to thank all those who helped during this past week, including everyone who searched for Calvin."
Many questions remain and authorities say answers will come in time. For now, their priority is making sure that Wolfe's family and community have the time and space they need to heal and begin to process this loss.
