Hodags are state runners-up!

The Rhinelander girls swim team had another impressive season in the pool! The Hodags finish in second place at the division two state swimming and diving meet.

First race of the night was the 200 yard medley relay. A team made up of Malia Francis, Noelle St. Pierre, Karis Francis and Abi Winnicki finish in second place. They broke the school record in the process with a time of 1:45.72.

In the 200 individual medley, Malia Francis would finish in first place with a time of 2:03.91, the 6th fastest in  the division two state meet. This was also her seventh career state title, the most in school history.

But that would not be her last state title as a Hodag. In the 100 yard backstroke, Malia would put together a historic performance finishing in first place with a time of 54.39! This was her third straight year winning this event and it was a division two state record!

Overall, the team would finish with 188 total points. State champions Edgewood had 394 points.
