Rhinelander - On Friday, the Rhinelander Area Silent Trails Association got to work clearing out brush at the Washburn Trails Area. They're planning to build a new pump track for the community.

For those unfamiliar with a pump track, it's a course designed to help new riders get used to mountain biking. It also let's experienced riders get a warmup before hitting the trails.

The organization's goal is to bring more people into mountain biking.

"A lot of people are intimidated to go out and ride the single track trails because of the varying degrees of difficulty," said Brian Hegge. "The pump tracks, because they are a very controlled area, they're about as safe as you can get for single track trails."

RASTA is hoping to have the track open for Labor Day weekend.
