Malia Francis competes at U.S. Olympic swim trials

Rhinelander - Kids all of ages dream about competing for their country in the Olympics, and for one Rhinelander swimmer, she is one step closer to accomplishing that dream.

Rhinelander's Malia Francis competed at the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials over the weekend. She raced in the 100 meter backstroke. 

Francis finished in second place in her heat and 16th overall with a time of 1:03:22. 

A total of 45 athletes competed in the 100 meter backstroke race.
