Northwoods - Lakeland Union Hockey had a season to remember. They made it all the way to the state semifinals, the first time in school history.
The leader of their team was Max Toijala. The senior forward had a historic career as a Thunderbird that saw break all three career scoring records at Lakeland Union.
Now after highschool, Toijala has signed a tender agreement with the Wausau Cyclones.
The team is part of the North American 3 Hockey League, which is a Tier 3 junior league, allowing athletes like Toijala to train.
"I am very excited to have Max remain in Central Wisconsin and join our program," Colin Bailey, Cyclone head coach said. "He brings a great skill set and worth ethic, which we expect to make an immediate impact."
