Northwoods - Caitlin Pesko of Phillips and Maia Oswald from Park Falls found themselves on the cover of the national magazine Skating. The magazine is the official publication of U.S. figure skating.

The two skaters are members of the synchronized skating team in Price County called "Price Icicles".

Head coach Nancy Risch head about the opportunity and was thrilled to give it a shot for her girls, but was uncertain if they would make the cover.

"There was hundreds and hundreds of photos submitted," said Risch. "So ya I had no idea if we were going to be selected or not. I thought it was a really cool honor that not only one of our skaters but two of our skaters from our team were selected."

For the two girls, they couldn't believe it when they saw their faces.

"I thought it was really cool because you don't usually to get an opportunity like that you know," said Oswald. "It was really cool to see."

"We have a group chat with all the skaters on the team," said Pesko. "She sent us the cover and I saw that I was on there and I was like, 'wow that's really cool. I never thought that I would have been on there.'"
