Rhinelander -
WJFW is extremely proud to announce our news, digital, and sports reporters have received numerous nominations in the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association 2020 Awards of Excellence. Winners have yet to be announced, but nominations imply that the finalists received either first, second, or third place in the respective category. Here's a full break down of the 2020 honorees:

Evening Anchor Justin Betti and the Newswatch12 at 10 team received a nomination for Best Evening Newscast. With 2020 being a year of trying new approaches to sharing news and information, the Newswatch12 evening team received two more nominations in Best Specialty Programming for the Tom Tiffany-Tricia Zunker Congressional Debate, and in Best Election Coverage with election coverage. Up North at 4's Dan Hagen picked up his first nomination in Best Spot News for his story on break-ins in Rib Lake.

For the first time in WBA history, WJFW has been honored in multiple digital and social media categories. Maya Reese, Reporter/Digital Content Director, received her first three nominations for her content. Reese picked up nominations in Best Use of Social Media for #NorthwoodsNoise, in Best Original Digital Content for her weekly recap show, In Case You Missed It (ICYMI), and in Best Online Personality.

WJFW's new Sports Reporter, Griffin Stroin, quickly picked up his first WBA nomination for Best Sports Reporting, after submitting his work on the Great Northern Riding Club. Andrew Goldstein, WJFW's former Sports Reporter/Sports Director, received his second nomination for Best Sports Reporting with his feature story on diver Karlie Woodall.

WBA Award winners will be announced and honored at a virtual gala on Saturday, May 1st.
