Madison - Stevens Point native and former SPASH stand-out, Cole Caufield has been named the 2021 Hobey Baker Award winner. The Badger forward tallied 30 goals and 22 assists for a nation leading 52 points.

Shortly after Wisconsin's season-ending loss to Bemidji State, Caufield signed his Entry-Level Contract with the Montreal Canadiens. Cole was a Montreal first-round draft pick in 2019. He reported to Montreal's AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket to begin his professional career.

Caufield has now become Wisconsin's second Hobey Baker winner, joining Blake Geoffrion in 2010.

The Canadiens prospect is expected to make his pro debut on April 9 against the Toronto Marlies.
