Rhinelander - Northwood Golf Club opened their driving range on Friday. A perfect way for golfers to knock the rust off before the summer. Luckily, it was a very mild winter and that means Northwood opened their doors way earlier than in the past. Course officials are hoping to take advantage.

"Just extends another month for the golf season, it's just great for everyone," said head golf professional, Kyle Christian. "Especially for making more money in April when you weren't sure if you were going to be open."

After the pandemic drove people to the course last year, Kyle says they're expecting another huge season.

"We can tell when we're ordering stuff, because all the golf clubs are back ordered right now, and all the golf supplies, so we're planning a big year again," said Christian. "Right now, we're trying to place everything now for people so they have it for the summer to use."

The course is set to open on April 9.
