Eagle River - Eagle River race car driver Natalie Decker is moving up in NASCAR. She will compete in at least five Xfinity Series races this year.

The Xfinity series the second-highest tier in NASCAR, behind the Cup Series, and it's a step up from the Truck Series, where she raced last year.

Her sponsor is Red Street Records, which was co-founded by Jay DeMarcus. DeMarcus is a bassist and vocalist for Rascal Flatts. Decker is excited to work with such an accomplished individual.

"It's been a dream of mine to be able to move up in the ranks of NASCAR and to have an amazing sponsor and having him sitting with me right now in Red Street Records," said Decker. "It's so exciting.

Grammy-award winner Jason Crabb will be on the hood of Natalie's number 23 Ford. Crabb signed on with Red Street Records in February 2020.

DeMarcus said Natalie is the perfect partner for his record company.

"The more we visited with her and got to know her," said DeMarcus. "It just seemed like a perfect match and we're so thrilled to be a partner with a young lady that's such a bright light in an industry like this. It was a no-brainer for us."

Natalie told Newswatch 12 that her time as a Northland Pines hockey player really helped her develop into the competitor she is today. Her first Xfinity race will be at Daytona on February 20th.
