Northwoods - Today was full of NFL playoff games, but there were also tons of local teams in action as well!
In hockey, the Rhinelander Boys traveled to Greenheck Fieldhouse to take on D.C. Everest. Hodags got out to an early lead but Evergreens score a goal with 33 seconds left in the third period to tie it. In overtime, D.C. Everest scores and wins 4 to 3.
On the girls side, Northland Pines hosting Hudson. Tonight was not the Eagles day, they fall 3 to 1. Julia Nesbitt scored the only goal for the Eagles.
There was also basketball action today! The Merrill Blue Jays hosted the Medford Raiders. This game was close early on in the first half but the Raiders run away with this one. Medford wins 80 to 49.
In girls basketball, Lakeland Union traveled to Kaukauna. Thunderbirds can't get it done on the road. Kaukauna wins 87 to 44.
The Merrill girls basketball team was also in action taking on Wisconsin Rapids. A tough day for Blue Jays fans as Merrill loses to Wisconsin Rapids 69 to 43.
