Oneida County -
On November 20, 2020, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with of the State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, and the assistance of Vilas County Sheriff's Office and the Woodruff Police Department arrested Alexander Beda, 26, from Woodruff for 10 counts of possession of child pornography in connection with an Internet Crimes against Children Investigation.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by Newswatch12, the case started when Beda or someone using Internet identifiers associated with Beda had uploaded an image depicting child pornography.
The state set a $50,000 dollar cash bond for Beda, which Oneida County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bloom said was appropriate.
"The court believes that a high cash bond is in order, also the fact we have 10 counts, all which require a mandatory prison sentence if convicted," said Oneida County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bloom.
Conditions of bond include:
- No unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.
- Not allowed to leave the state of Wisconsin and No contact with victim or parents as referred by the ADA.
- Not to use or possess any item that connects to the Internet.
Beda will appear again in court again on December 7 for an adjourned initial appearance.
