Madison - On Friday morning, the WIAC Council of Chancellors voted unanimously to postpone all winter sports through December 31, 2020.

The move comes after the conference had an evaluation of COVID-19 risks throughout the state.

This decision will affect men's and women's basketball, men's and women's hockey, indoor track and field, swimming and diving, wresting, and women's gymnastics.

Due to this suspension of winter sports, no WIAC schools will compete in any varsity sporting events during the fall semester. The conference did announce it will monitor the situation around the state and determine the best route for sports in the spring semester.
