Rhinelander -

Last year, Northland Pines was a game away from the state championship. Naturally expectations are high for the team going into the season.

They struggled against Mosinee. Pines had 20 less shots on goal. Mosinee goes on to win the match 4 to 1.

Tomahawk traveled to Medford for a dual cross country meet. Medford's  Joey Sullivan won the race with a time of 16 minutes and 50 seconds. The Tomahawk boys team would win the meet though.

On the girls side, Medford's Alicia Kawa edged out Meredith Richter by a hair. Medford girls defeat Tomahawk.

In volleyball, Tomahawk hosted Lakeland Union. The Thunderbirds take the first set and win the match in five.

Men's basketball season might not start for some time, but Wausau East has found their new head coach Daniel Garrett. Garret was an assiasnt for the Lumberjacks from 2008 to 2016 until accepting the head coach position at Newman Catholic.
