Holiday season and movie releases could add to theater turnout
RHINELANDER - New movies being released over the next two weeks could add to holiday turnout at local theaters. Rouman Cinema owner George Rouman said Hollywood studios really take note of the holiday season.

Many blockbuster movies come out during that time. Many families will go see movies during the winter season and other organizations take advantage of it too.

"We do quite a lot of company outings and school field trips," said Rouman. "So we host a lot of different groups throughout the year really, but it's really focused a lot here during the holidays."

Rouman said families take advantage of this so they can get out of their home during a long winter day.

"Everybody also looks for out of home entertainment," said Rouman. "The movies are a cliché, traditional, stereotypical type opportunity for entertainment outside of the home."

Rouman predicts that the national box office could reach a record setting $11.8 billion in gross sales when 2018 ends.
