RHINELANDER - Items stored for safe keeping in Rhinelander ended up STOLEN instead.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department and Rhinelander Police used a search warrant Tuesday in Rhinelander, and found a number of things that had been stolen from storage units.

Items were from Oneida County and nearby counties.

The Oneida County Sheriff's department asks people who rent storage units to check them for signs of theft.

Don't go in if you find a unit broken into.

Instead you should call the Oneida County Sheriff's Office at the number at 715-361-5100.

Two full-size pickup trucks hit each other just after 10 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 51 and Bakken Road.

"[We] believe, from the crush of the impact, that that was a head-on, not a glancing or angled blow," said Vilas Co. Sheriff's Capt. Gerry Ritter on scene.

First responders used the "jaws of life" to take victims out of at least one truck. In addition to the man who died, two other people were taken to Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff for treatment.
