THREE LAKES - If everything goes right, the new town hall and police station in Three Lakes should open next summer.
Town Chair Jeff Bruss told us progress is at about 25 percent right now. A wet fall set construction back on the $1.6 million dollar project, but work has caught up since then.
Bruss sees the building, along with other community improvements, as a legacy for the town.
"Honestly, the people who live here now aren't going to be the ones enjoying this. It's going to be the second generation that should thank us, hopefully, for getting everything in order - a new building, new roads, a new library, a solid school," Bruss said. "It tells me that if you present it, and it makes sense, the community supports itself."
The town hall, police station, and food pantry will all be under the same roof once the building is finished. Then, the current town hall will be knocked town to open a green space.
