Note: This is a running list of church services and other events cancelled or closed across the viewing area.  This list will not include school closings.  To be added to this list, please contact Newswatch 12 via email@wjfw.com with the subject line "Weekend cancellation".  Thank you.

ENTIRE VIEWING AREA

Due to the ongoing treacherous travel conditions, Cellcom had decided to keep all stores closed today, Sunday April 15 along with its call center. 

ONEIDA COUNTY

- St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Rhinelander - No services Sunday

- St. Matthias Episcopal Church Minocqua - All services and programs cancelled Sunday, April 15 / Sunday's in the Sanctuary with George, organ recital, cancelled Sunday, April 15

- Grace Foursquare Church - No services Sunday (Same as Eagle River)

- Three Lakes Evangelical Free Church - Services canceled Sunday

- First United Methodist Church Rhinelander - Services canceled Sunday

- Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rhinelander - All services canceled Sunday

- Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff - All Sunday masses canceled. There will be 4 p.m. mass on Saturday, April 14th.

- St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, 9 a.m. service cancelled. 

- Faith Lutheran Church in Harshaw, Sunday Service and Sunday School cancelled.

- Campanile Chorus in Minocqua, 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday rehearsals cancelled.

- Eaglebrook Church in Minocqua - Church service cancelled for Sunday April 15

- Church of Pines in Minocqua, No worship service or activities on April 15th.

- YMCA of the Northwoods - Closed Sunday

- Walter Dulin Chapter 62 DAV & DAV Auxiliary in Rhinelander has been cancelled for Monday, April 16. The meeting has been rescheduled for Monday April 23, 2018

- Dr. Barbara Phillips Pediatric Dentistry closed on Monday

VILAS COUNTY

- The planned Wine Tasting Benefit for the Humane society of Vilas County scheduled for Sunday April 15 at Lannys Firrside has been cancelled.  We will reschedule at a future date. Please call 715-547-8120 for more information

- Grace Foursquare Church - No services Sunday (Same as Rhinelander)

- Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Sayner - 9 a.m. service canceled Sunday

- St. Mary Catholic Church in Sayner, no Sunday morning services

- Abundant Life Church in Eagle River - Services canceled Sunday

- Community United Church of Christ in St. Germain -- All services cancelled today (Sunday)

LINCOLN COUNTY

- City of Merrill Snow Emergency.  No parking on city streets from 12 a.m. Saturday through 8 a.m. Monday

- St. Mary's Catholic Church Healing Service will be rescheduled for April 29, at 3:30 at 320 E Washington Ave Tomahawk Wisconsin

- Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Merrill - Worship and Sunday School canceled for Sunday

- Bible Presbyterian Church in Merrill - All services and activities canceled Sunday



LANGLADE COUNTY

- Antigo United Methodist Church - Services canceled Sunday

- St. Mary's Pickerel / Holy Family Elcho, Sunday masses cancelled.

-Kempster United Church of Christ, services cancelled. 

- Elcho United Church of Christ, services cancelled.

- St Paul's Church, closed April 15, 2018

PRICE COUNTY

- St. Anthony's Day Care in Park Falls will be closed on Monday


MARATHON COUNTY

- City of Wausau Snow Emergency 8 p.m. Sunday - 10 a.m. Monday.  The City of Wausau plow crews from the Department of Public Works will be taking some time to rest this afternoon and evening. They will be returning to work tonight and then will work through the night to clear the roads for the morning commute.

- Mountain of the Lord Church in Wausau: all services and activities cancelled for Sunday

- Rib Falls United Methodist Church, services cancelled. 

- Organ concert by Balint Karosi at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 Grant Street in Wausau has been cancelled.

PORTAGE COUNTY

- City of Stevens Point Snow Emergency.  All city parking lots opened to overnight parking.  Vehicles parked on streets that impact the safe passage of plows or emergency vehicles may be ticketed and towed.

- Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Amherst Junction is canceling church service tomorrow (Sunday)

- Divine Word Lutheran Church, Plover cancelling all morning services and activities for Sunday, April 15

- The Word, Stevens Point cancelling all morning services and activities for Sunday, April 15

ADAMS COUNTY

- Woodland Lutheran Church, Town of Rome. Services cancelled for Sunday April 15, 2018

FOREST COUNTY 

- St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Town of Crandon and Argonne cancelling services for Sunday April 15, 2018.

MADISON - Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is alleging his Democratic opponent Tony Evers plagiarized material that was part of the state budget request submitted by the education department he runs.

Walker made the charge on Friday, hours before Walker and Evers were to meet in their first debate. Polls show the race is a tossup.

MADISON - Dispatch logs show multiple shots were fired in the home of a northwestern Wisconsin girl who vanished after her parents were found dead inside the house.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department released dispatch logs Friday that indicate responding deputies found multiple rounds in the home and the door kicked in.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Most of the veterans on the 34th Never Forgotten Honor Flight served in Vietnam. But one veteran joined the service decades before they did.

"I wanted to do this before I became 100 years old," said Chester Lynn, who lives in Phelps.

Lynn got his wish and joined the Honor Flight at 95 years old.

"It means a lot," said Lynn. "It shows that the people do care."

TOWN OF ENTERPRISE - A simple contraption made from wood and holding batteries and cameras ended up in Jason Manders' hands Thursday morning after a long flight.

"I've never held anything that's been in space, so this is pretty cool," Manders said.

Getting that contraption back from high above the earth was much more complicated.

"I didn't really know what I was going to get into," Manders admitted.

MERRILL - Sixteen Wisconsin counties will ask voters in November whether they support legalizing marijuana.

Democratic Attorney General candidate Josh Kaul visited one of those counties, Lincoln County, on Thursday.

In Merrill, he said he supports allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana in the state.

"There are people who deal with chronic pain, who can benefit from having medical marijuana, and I think they should have that option," Kaul said. "If there are doctors who could prescribe either medical marijuana to people or opioids to address pain, I'd rather see doctors prescribing medical marijuana."

HURLEY - An Arbor Vitae man will face 14 extra felony charges related to the Iron County murder of Wayne Valliere, Jr. last winter.

Evan Oungst, 28, is one of five men charged with homicide in the killing.

The state Department of Justice filed nine additional counts of harboring or aiding a felon and five counts of giving out illegal drugs.

Oungst also faces a count of harboring or aiding a felon in Vilas County.

The information attached to the new Iron County charges matches previous information in the case. Assistant Attorneys General Richard Dufour and Chad Verbeten are handling the case and decided on the additional charges.
