Controlled burn gets out of hand
PINE LAKE - A controlled burn grew out of control in Pine Lake Tuesday evening.

It happened just before 7 o'clock.

The fire burned about a quarter-acre just off of County Road C.

The property owner had all the necessary permits to burn dry pine trees but the thick brush below caused the fire to spread.

The Pine Lake fire captain says it took about 30 minutes to put out the fire.

More than 15 firefighters from the Pine Lake and Pelican departments responded to the scene.

The DNR also came in to plow a line to stop the spread of the fire.
