EAGLE RIVER -
The Vilas County Public Health Department reports the county's first confirmed case of COVID-19.
Health officials say it's a 65-year-old man with recent out-of-state travel history.
They say he is in the hospital, right now but in stable condition. Health Department officials say they will be contacting individuals who may have had close contact with him.
In the Health Department press release, Vilas County Health Director and Health Officer Laurel Dreger stated "The best thing people can do right now is to follow our Governor's Orders to stay home. If you are sick, you should not be going out at all. Have other people get your essential items, such as groceries. For those who are able to work or get their essential items, please follow the social distancing recommendations of 6 feet."
