RHINELANDER - Pioneer Park in Rhinelander won't open again until the summer of 2020. For one day only this winter, the park's train depot museum will welcome guests for free.
At the holiday open house Saturday, people can enjoy refreshments and museum tours.
Model trains will be running throughout the day including a display based on 1950's Rhinelander.
The Rhinelander Railroad Association will also provide rides in a speeder car outside the museum.
Doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and donations are welcome.

OSHKOSH - A Wisconsin sheriff is urging reporters not to disclose the name of a 16-year-old high school student who was shot after he stabbed a police officer.
Winnebago County Sheriff John Matz says he's afraid publishing the name will lead to copycat incidents.
Oshkosh West High School resource officer Michael Wissink shot the student Tuesday after the boy allegedly stabbed him in his office. Wissink survived his wounds.

MILWAUKEE - Firefighters have brought a huge fire in a commercial building north of downtown Milwaukee under control.
Winds gusts of up to 30 mph fanned the flames at the three-story building early Friday morning.

MADISON - Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers praised scientists as he lit the state Capitol's "holiday tree." Meanwhile, a high school choir sang Christmas carols.
The Friday ceremony was an odd juxtaposition of the two sides of the state's debate over the tree's symbolism.

SUGAR CAMP - Sugar Camp Fire and Rescue and the Oneida County Sheriff's Office responded to the call of a vehicle fire on Thursday morning.
The car caught fire on Highway 17 between Indian Lake Road and Mill Lake Road.
Lt. Firefighter of Sugar Camp Fire and Rescue Jake Nitzel said the driver acted responsibly.
"The driver did what he needed to do when he realized there was an issue, he immediately pulled over and 911 was immediately called," said Nitzel.
There were no injuries.
