New Biomass Plant Nearly Ready for Operation
Story By Associated Press

ROTHSCHILD - A $250 million biomass plant in central Wisconsin will begin generating power late this year.

Construction of Domtar's Rothschild plant began in August of 2011.

When the plant is up and running, about 60 percent of the steam generated by wood waste will create electricity for We Energies. The remaining steam will be used at Domtar's local mill.

The wood debris will come from forests within a 75 mile radius of the plant.
