Evers calls Walker's immigration ad 'desperate'Submitted: 10/23/2018
MADISON - Gov. Scott Walker's latest campaign ad saying that Democrat Tony Evers wants "special treatment for illegals" is being decried as racist and an act of desperation.

The Republican Walker released the latest ad Tuesday, exactly two weeks before the election. It's based on comments made by the Democratic Evers during a debate with Walker on Friday.

Evers supports giving in-state tuition to students whose parents are here illegally but brought them as children. He also supports allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain state driver's licenses.

Evers' spokesman Sam Lau says the ad is a "desperate attempt by a career politician to mimic Donald Trump to save his political career."

The liberal group One Wisconsin Now calls the spot racist.
