Antigo baseball embraces scrappy identity Submitted: 06/09/2019
Antigo - Nobody needs to look far to find examples of great Antigo baseball teams, yet this year's Robin squad did something that none of the others going back to 1995 have done: make it to the state tournament.

Antigo got some batting cage work in Sunday evening, preparing for its matchup against the West De Pere Phantoms, who have only lost two games all season.

The Robins are used to fighting against the odds, though.

They put on late-inning comebacks against Medford in the regional final and Northwestern in the sectional semifinals.

The players have embraced that come-from-behind identity.
"We're definitely a unique team, for sure," senior Eric Langseth said. "We like to give people a little heartbeat action to battle back in the seventh like that. (There's) a lot of heart on this team and we just don't want to lose."

Antigo will play West De Pere in Grand Chute about 35 minutes southwest of Green Bay.

First pitch is Wednesday at 6 p.m.
