- A new fitness center in Minocqua aims to give people full-body workouts in just 30 minutes.
Sixel's Circuit Fit is a program that uses high intensity interval training. That type of training requires you to work for several minutes to get your heart rate up then take short breaks that keep you moving.
"Something like this just fits everybody from the seniors to our youth, to our extreme athletes," said Personal Fitness and Martial Arts Instructor Dave Sixel.
Inside, you'll find different stations that have punching bags, ropes, and kettlebells.
"This is like a dream come true for me," said Sixel. "We've had a lot of calling for it [here in] Minocqua. [I have] a lot of clients here already and it seemed to fit just perfect."
Sixel says what makes this fitness center so different is how quickly you can complete a workout. You go to each station for only a few minutes then have an "active rest" in between.
"When you're here you're going to be greeted by a personal trainer and we're here to correct your form, help you out, to motivate and keep you rocking all the way through the circuits," said Sixel.
Sixel also says there aren't any scheduled classes because anyone can walk in and start the circuit whenever the center is open.
"It's a very open schedule for the person that really doesn't have much time, but you know, if they want to sneak over in their lunch hour, before work, after work…'Hey, come on in we're open,'" said Sixel.
Sixel and his team of personal trainers come up with the workouts. The stations can change daily and are all geared towards full body training.
