Racing in Eagle River feature modifieds, fireworks, cause Submitted: 07/04/2013
EAGLE RIVER - It was a special holiday night of racing at Eagle River Speedway on Thursday. Hundreds of fans honoring America showing respect during the National Anthem before the races. Wissota Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Junior Sprints among the racing classes, but the Badger Modified tour was featured class. In the first heat, Craig Priewe (Pray-we) of Beaver Dam would get the victory. A great fireworks show was held after the races. Tonight's races is also a stop for the Kim Parsons Memorial Trophy Tour. Kim, who was from Antigo, died in a freak accident 5 years ago. She was an organ donor. Her father Steve is stopping at 27 different tracks throughout Wisconsin. The long time area rack announcer presents awards to the feature winners. It's to help promote organ and tissue donation. Tomahawk Speedway will have racing and fireworks on Friday. Also this weekend in Crandon is the Super Truck Challenge.
