RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) - YMCA is celebrating Active Aging Week, which happens during the first week of October. This week highlights seniors in the area and hoping they remain active as they age. Active Older Adult Coordinator Marilyn Dushchl, says that this opportunity is wonderful for the seniors. "So it gives them the opportunity to see what’s here at the YMCA, and see what we offer for seniors which is actually a quite a lot," said Marilyn Dushchl.

Anyone over the age of 55 can work out for free this week. Giving them the chance to participate in all activities the Y has to offer. The week guess pass will give any seniors the opportunity to workout at the Y, swim and participate in senior exercise classes and programs.

"All of these special weeks they do, I think it’s just an opportunity to really highlight programs that are really going on, but encouraging people to participate in them," said Dushchl. Active aging week ends on October 8th.
