Antigo high school building sign 2-19-22

ANTIGO - The Antigo School Board has agreed to reverse a controversial change to their school schedule.

According to the approved plan, high school students would have been dismissed at 3:20 PM, 17 minutes later than the current time.

District Administrator Julie Sprague cited two main factors for the change: the additional time would only result in another two minutes per class each, and the moving of the school's bussing hub brought with it increased concerns about traffic safety and flow.

But concerns were raised over what students who remained in school during that hour would be doing and how students with jobs will balance school with work.

Ultimately, the board voted to reverse that decision.
