- The new coronavirus has now killed more than 600 people in Wisconsin, state health officials said Tuesday.
The number of deaths stood at 607 as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the state Department of Health Services. The state has seen a total of 18,917 cases, an increase of 374 cases on Monday. Nearly 2,650 people have been hospitalized since the virus reached Wisconsin.
Only 3.6% of all tests reported Tuesday were positive, the second smallest total in the last two weeks and down from nearly 4% on Monday. The percentage of positive tests overall has been trending downward since May 20.
The number of tests processed jumped sharply from Monday, from 3,492 to 10,148. Lab processing capacity stood at 15,115 tests per day as of Tuesday.
