Event Location: North Lakeland Discovery Center

Over half of Wisconsin's 50 native mussel species are listed as species of greatest conservation need. Currently, there are still many unknowns on where different mussel species live. Join WDNR Conservation Biologist Jesse Weinzinger and the Discovery Center Water Team to "dive" into the world of mussels. We will start on land with an introduction to mussels and their identification. We will then cruise the waters of Vance Lake on the Manitowish River, searching for mussels and learning how to identify them in the field. Participants will meet at NLDC for the on-land portion before caravanning to nearby Vance Lake. Canoes/PFDs provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. $30 ($25 members). Please bring a facial covering to where when we cannot be socially distant from one another. Register by July 7.

The Much Murdered Trader
The Mystery Event of the summer hosts over 100 people who are curious to solve the case. This is a locally scripted event

Are capers, crimes, and conundrums up your alley? Do you have what it takes to solve a mystery? We're willing to bet you do! Put your sleuthing shoes on and step back in time to help solve the annual WhoDunIt at Historic Point Basse as each new case pits the citizens of Point Basse against one another; clues will unravel all around you as you interview the townsfolk to crack the case.

Always written by a local author, Luke J. Konkol, and performed by your Point Basse favorites and members of community theaters, this event hosts over 100 visitors and has run since 2009.

The Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 14th season of our summer music series, Music on Main Street, beginning June 16 through August 4 on Wednesday evenings, from 7pm to 9pm. Area musicians will be performing in the same location as last year’s series, outdoors at the Boulder Junction Community Center, where there is ample space for social distancing. The Community Center is located on Highway M just south of Main Street.

We are asking all attendees to please be respectful and conscientious of social distancing, and to wear a mask if not within a 6’ distance. Please bring lawn chairs with you. The sitting area will consist of both pavement and grass. Restrooms are available. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

Troy Graham. Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Troy Graham, comes from Marquette, MI and brings old-time folk and bluegrass to the stage.

For youth in grades 4-12. Use common materials to explore buoyancy and power! Design a working electric motor boat with this activity. Find a hull out of recycled materials, add the motor, propeller and other components. Learn through experimentation and tinkering. Evolve your boat through the engineering design process. Cost is $5/4-Hers or $10/non-enrolled youth. Youth can enroll in 4-H for free anytime, even minutes before building. Parental or caregiver assistance may be needed for youth in grades 4-6.
