- Major League Baseball will have a 60-game season in 2020 with July 24 as a target start date.
Players are set to report to modified spring training camps on July 1. There is not currently an expanded postseason in place.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred imposed a 60-game season with fully pro-rated salaries after weeks-long negotiations between players and owners broke down. The two sides were at odds over how many games to play and whether players would be paid pro-rated salaries.
The announcement comes after the league and player's union agreed to health and safety standards.
