- The idea of sprucing up your home after a harsh winter usually offers something to look forward to as the cold drags on.
In fact, home improvement has been the sole focus of an annual event in Rhinelander for the past 35 years. It was called the Hodag Home Show, but will be called the RACC Business Showcase for 2020.
The name is not the only thing changing for this year's event.
Rather than just focusing on home improvements, event and program coordinator Rachel Boehlen wants to include all types of businesses in the Northwoods.
"This year we really wanted to expand the horizons and broaden the scope of the businesses that are in attendance," Boehlen said.
New this year, there will be a DJ and activities for kids to enjoy.
Awards will also be given to booths with the best theme and best attention-getter.
Participating businesses in the event will even get a chance to network before the show.
Boehlen thinks the social is beneficial to the attending businesses.
"It's just a networking opportunity for the businesses who are in the showcase. There will be food, some beverages, and some good music and just a good time," said Boehlen.
Registration for businesses is open until Mar. 13.
Rhinelander High School will host the event on Saturday, Mar. 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
