More Money Than Expected Will Be In State Budget Submitted: 05/15/2019
MADISON - Over $750 million more than originally expected will be in the Wisconsin state budget thank to a one-time spike from tax collections.

The money becomes available for the Legislature as it's working on the two-year spending plan.

Governor Evers says he used over $50 million of the money to pay down debt and wants to spend over $30 million on technical colleges and workforce development.

But some leaders are arguing that the money would be better spent elsewhere.
