Walker supporters react to governor's loss Submitted: 11/07/2018
PEWAUKEE - Many Gov. Scott Walker supporters expected Tuesday's election to be a close race, but never thought Tony Evers would actually win the governor's seat. Early in Pewaukee Wednesday morning at the governor's watch party, many Republicans left feeling shocked by the turn of events.

"Well they said it would be close, didn't expect this but it's politics in Wisconsin," said Walker supporter Paris Procopis. "It's an interesting state where everything seems to go in different directions."

Throughout election night, people chanted for Walker to get another four years, but despite their wishes not coming true, some see a silver lining.

Despite Democratic wins for governor, attorney general, and state treasurer, Republicans hold majorities in the state Senate and Assembly.

"So we have a check on Evers, and he's got to realize it's a razor thin margin so he can't go so far over the edge to the left. It's a very split electorate right now," said Procopis.

Walker supporters do feel that regardless of the loss, he did a great job as governor and they are thankful for all his hard work.
