- Six seniors on Mosinee's volleyball team graduated at the end of last season, including three all-conference players.
That leaves even more responsibility for Mosinee's all-conference setter, Janae Antosch.
As Janae tries to lead Mosinee to another conference title, she'll have some help from her sister and coach, Aubree.
"It's really interesting because I can talk to her as my sister while she's coaching me, which can help me understand the game better," Janae said.
Aubree also played volleyball at Mosinee before continuing her career at St. Norbert College.
And ever since middle school, Janae has been paying attention to her sister's lessons.
"She's been to all my games and now I get to go to hers, which is really awesome," Aubree said.
Janae serves as her team's primary setter, although she also gets to wear several different hats during the season.
"Just the way we set up defense, it gives me lots of opportunities for digs," Janae said.
Monday night, Janae focused on setting her teammates up, leading them to a two-set victory over Edgar.
"She reminds me a lot of myself because she's very determined at what she does and she's always working to be the best player she can be," Aubree said.
The task will get harder during the year, but Janae looks forward to taking on the challenge with her teammates.
"Including everyone and having fun all the time, that's what got us to where we were," Janae said.
Mosinee will play a tournament at UW-Oshkosh to open its season August 21.
