- Figuring out how to make a living can be hard. The Three Lake School District tried to helped students make that decision today.Twenty-nine expert speakers came to give students their professional advice.District Guidance Director Gene Welhoefer makes a living by giving students a direction. He's worked since last February to make this a special day for his kids."An activity like this gives them the first hand knowlege of people who are in career fields. They're in small groups they get to ask questions they would not ask if there were twenty kids in the room. And the people coming in are experts."
Culinary Arts is Senior Bridgette Schmitt's dream job. She's glad to have a school that makes career planning a top priority."That's something my life and my work experience in the community and also the school has helped me to decide. And the career fair as well, because they've had speakers, business owners, restuant owners. A lot of the tourism around here is definitely the hospitality industry."One of the Career Day's speakers was our very own Ryan Michaels. He had the opportunity to teach kids about both Meteorology and news reporting.
