St. Germain hosts second annual Arctic Warrior event
ST. GERMAIN - The Saint Germain chamber hosted its second annual Arctic Warrior on Saturday. The event is a snowshoe and obstacle course race held on Little Saint Germain Lake. Nearly 100 competitors signed up for the two events. But event organizers were forced to shorten the snowshoe race and cancel the kids race because of the cold weather.

"The snowshoe and the obstacle race were 5K and 10K, so we just went down to 5K and 8K options so we just shorted it by 2K," said St. Germain Chamber Events Coordinator Judy Jurries.

Several new obstacles were added to this year's course. Event coordinator Judy Jurries says she's already brainstorming for next year.

"I would love to see a little kids obstacle course race so that's what I would like to see happen, or maybe like a 1K or 3K obstacle for those who just want to wet their whistle but aren't up to the 5Kor 8K, so they get to experience just a little part of it," said Jurries.

Even a few Newswatch 12ers participated in the event. Thanks as always to Dan Dumiss for all of his work running the airwatch 12 drone.
