Police look for suspect after armed robbery in Shawano

SHAWANO - Police search for a suspect after a report of an armed robbery at a store in Shawano.

According to Shawano Police, the call came in around 7:00 Thursday night from Maurices on Woodlawn drive.

Investigation showed a man forced his way in through the front door, just as an employee was locking up for the night.

The suspect showed a handgun and demanded money.

The robber took off after getting what he wanted.

He's described as a white man around age 30, about 5' 8" tall.

He was wearing a dark hoodie, dark denim jeans and a ski mask.

CRANDON - Leaders in four Northwoods counties hope a $38,633 grant will bring in almost 10 times that much money to the area. Forest, Langlade, Oneida and Vilas counties got a Joint Effort Marketing grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism Wednesday.

The counties will use the money to promote the natural resources, history, recreation, and local cultural sites along the Nicolet Wolf River Scenic Byway.The byway runs 145 miles through the four counties.
