WAUSAU - On Monday night, Wausau's Public Health and Safety Committee put two entrepreneurs another step closer to starting a new kind of business in the city.
Ashley Sampson and Dan Dadabo want to start a commercial quadricycle business, better known as a pedal pub.
The proposed Wausau business would have a machine that sits up to 16 people.
"We have different routes planned out for non-alcoholic routes that are focused around different venues, we also have ones for parties and bachelorette parties and things so I think that multiple people from the community would enjoy the quadricycle in a variety of ways," said Sampson.
The pedal pub will also have a speaker system to play music while riding around town.
Sampson says that with all of the development in Wausau recently, a quadricycle business would fit well in the community.
"Wausau has brought some really cool, creative breweries, establishments, and some different things especially around the 400 block. And just moving back home I was able to see something that has a ton of potential to showcase the Wausau community. Which is a community that we really love," said Sampson.
The committee looked over the business plan and unanimously approved it. Sampson and Dadabo's proposal will now head to the full city council for final approval.
