RHINELANDER - With every bouquet Sandy Buss handed out Wednesday, she also handed out some happiness.
"It's just something positive to put out there," said Buss.
Buss is the Trig's floral department manager. She was one of six Trig's employees handing out bouquets all over downtown Rhinelander for "Petal it Forward" day.
Everyone got two bouquets--one to keep and one to give to someone else.
"We want them to "petal it forward" and give it to somebody else of their choice--a loved one, a co-worker, a random stranger on the street," Buss said.
Trig's gave out 200 bouquets at five of their locations, but they weren't the only florists giving away flowers.
People all over the country received and gave out flowers. They were encouraged to post to social media with the hashtag "Petal it Forward."
"There's a lot of negative stuff on social media, and we're thinking this is good way to spin it to the positive side," said Buss.
It's a simple way for people to share some joy and hopefully keep petalling it forward.
"You're going to see a lot of other people, you know, making other people happy," said Buss.
