Documents: Potential victim tackled, wrestled shooter in Oneida Co. attempted homicide case
RHINELANDER - The target of a homicide attempt in Oneida County tackled and wrestled the gun away from his shooter, according to court documents.

Forty-six-year-old Steven Fletcher is charged with attempted murder in a shooting earlier this month south of Rhinelander. No one was hurt.

Fletcher was in Oneida County Court on Monday as he awaits a new public defender. A criminal complaint says Fletcher broke into an apartment unit and fired a shot at another man, who we're not naming. The man told police he tackled Fletcher and took the gun from him. A test on-scene showed Fletcher's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal driving limit.

Fletcher remains in jail on $30,000 bond.
