ADRC center wants to help seniors and people with disabilities plan for the future
RHINELANDER - The center, also known as ADRC of the Northwoods, helps people with housing, transportation and benefits.

The ADRC started in 2012. It helps people plan for the future.

Dianne Jacobson is the Oneida County Department on Aging Director.

"There's something about planning for later years that people are adverse to. But we now have professionals that are here to give you the options. It's always the people's options of what they need," said Jacobson.

But the service isn't just for seniors. The ADRC also helps people 18 and older with disabilities.

Workers say that group didn't have a lot of resources before ADRC.

"Whether you're 28 and have a disability, or whether you're 65, the ADRC is here to help you maintain your independence and give you the options for living the life you want," said Jacobson.

The Rhinelander office for the ADRC is located in the Oneida County senior center.

Going to the ADRC for help is free.
