Big Ol' Fish - Aug 29
- Al Cline of Rhinelander was the latest of a long line of successful anglers reportedly finding luck on Little Duffy Lake. Using a Rappa Fire Tiger, he reeling in this 30 inch Walleye. It's the second biggest one's he's ever landed. This prize is getting mounted.

Cecil's Jim Britton had quite a day on the Wolf River between Shawano and Keshena. using a Mepps spinner, he landed this 38 inch Northern Pike. After the picture the fish was released.

Mari Szews of Sugar Camp was fishing with her grandparents when she landed family bragging rights. With a crappie minnow, the 8-year old hauled in a HUGE 23 inch walleye.

Her sister Kaya nabbed this 18-inch largemouth bass just a couple of days later. She was using a night crawler. I understand Both young ladies are now giving their dad some pointers.

The winds are causing high waves to slam against the break walls on Lakeshore drive. That's an area where swimming isn't allowed, especially today.

Winds are picking up all morning long, and the waves are different depending on where you are along Lake Michigan.

RIB MOUNTAIN - The Marathon County Sheriff's Office reports that a 55-year-old Rib Mountain man who went missing Saturday night was found dead on Sunday.

The sheriff's office was told around 10 p.m. Saturday that Ian Turner had walked away from his home at 7000 South Mountain Road around 6 p.m. earlier that night. 

He was a diabetic and had an insulin pump. 

A search party discovered Turner's body on Sunday in a wooded area near his home. Officers say he died of natural causes.

PORTAGE COUNTY - Early Sunday afternoon a woman died and four other people were injured in a car crash near Stevens Point according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The accident happened just before 1 p.m. on US Highway 10, east of County Trunk Highway K in the town of Stockton.

A Hyundai Elantra attempted to cross eastbound traffic on Highway 10 to get to the median turn around. In doing so, the Hyundai passed in front of a Chrysler Town & Country Van. The van struck the Hyundai's driver side. Both vehicles came to rest in the grass median.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 46-year-old Stevens Point woman, died in the crash. The passenger of the Hyndai and the three people in the van all suffered non-life threatening injuries. 

Names will no be released until families are notified.

VINLAND, WIS. (AP) - Divers are searching for two women who are missing after their boat collided with another boat on Lake Winnebago in east-central Wisconsin.

The crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday when a 26-foot Crownline E6XS boat with two people aboard collided with a 20-foot Rinker Captiva boat with four occupants.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says two Neenah women, ages 20 and 26, were thrown from the Rinker Captiva, along with a dog.

The Post Crescent reports divers resumed searching for the women Sunday morning. The Grundman Boat Launch is closed to the public because of the search.

The other two occupants of the Rinker Captiva suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital by ambulance. The two people in the Crownline E6XS were treated on shore by paramedics.

WAUNAKEE (AP) - A 74-year-old man is jailed on suspicion he shot and killed a neighbor in his apartment complex in Waunakee.

Police were called to the complex Friday evening about a person being shot and found the victim in her apartment. Police say she was shot in the chest and was flown to UW Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The victim is identified as 54-year-old Julie Virginia Anderson of Waunakee.

Police say the suspect returned to his apartment after the shooting. He surrendered after speaking with a SWAT team negotiator and was booked on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports Anderson was shot in the presence of her 15-year-old son and 4-year-old grandson.

Waunakee Police Chief Kevin Plendl says police don't have a motive for the shooting.

EAGLE RIVER - People who have a passion for protecting lakes in the Northwoods celebrated today.

The Eagle River Chain of Lakes Association held its first summer social event to bring members from all 10 lakes together.

The ERCLA is a non-profit that maintains and protects the Eagle River Chain of Lakes.

Organizers wanted to members to re-connect and express their goals for the future.

There was food, music and trivia.
