EAGLE RIVER - The 7th annual Classic Car Cruzins car show took place this weekend in the Northwoods.

A variety of beautiful cars could be seen down Wall Street in downtown Eagle River.

A car from 1928 stuck out amongst them all.

A 1928 Dodge Victory 6, purchased in 1988 and used in a film called Moonshiner on the Lamb that unfortunately didn't get the investments needed to hit the big screens, wasn't even fully refurbished until two years ago.

"Our dream was to have it restored," Hank McEvoy said, the owner of the 1928 Dodge. "But we didn't have any money cause we had five kids. So when we retired we didn't have five kids anymore so we started putting money into this car."

McEvoy who taught science for forty years, purchased the car in Elgin, Ill.

"It was really nice and it was a good price so we purchased it," said McEvoy. "It had original upholstery in it. Kids wouldn't ride in it because it smelled terrible. The muffler didn't work so it was too loud for them. Now they fight over getting it."

McEvoy, who has Parkinson's disease, enjoys having the car because it gives him a project to stay busy with.

"I enjoyed working in the garage all winter on the chassis," said McEvoy. "The wheels took me a long time. Wooden wheel spokes. Had to be dismantled and refinished, restained and polished out"

The Victory 6 has taken first place in car shows at St. Germain and Boulder Junction . McEvoy takes pride in the fact it is a Dodge.

"The Dodge Brothers broke away from Henry Ford in the late 20s and made their own car company called Dodge Brothers," said McEvoy. "They were interested in higher quality of cars. It's just the Cadillac of the twenties."
