PHILLLIPS - 50 teams across the state kicked off their football seasons tonight.

Take you to Phillips where the loggers were taking on the Ladysmith Lumberjacks
Ladysmith's defense getting it done early.

Now lumberjacks first play of offense, Quarterback Lucus Weisenberger lays a stiff arm and then takes it all the way to the house.

Touchdown lumberjacks!

On their second drive Ladysmith scores again to go ahead 12-0 and they didn't look back.

Ladysmith wins 41-0.

Other scores around the area tonight. Manawa takes down Tigerton/Marion 53-0.

Newman Catholic wins over Thorp 41-8.

In the Wisconsin valley, Wausau East wins a close one and beats Wisconsin Rapids 19-13.

Also, Menominee Indian loses to Hope Christian 20-14

In tennis, Rhinelander takes down Medford 7-0.

In boys soccer, Northland Pines defeats Lakeland 3-1

BOULDER JUNCTION - Approximately 15,000 people came out to support the Boulder Junction Volunteer Fire Department Saturday as it held its 25th annual chicken barbecue fundraiser.

All the money raised during the barbecue will help the department pay for equipment upgrades and training.
