RHINELANDER - The Rhinelander High School boys' soccer team will feature a smaller roster for its 2014 season.

In fact, the Hodags have the lowest turnout they've ever had.

Teams like Lakeland and Northland Pines all have plenty of players that came out this season.

While their numbers are small, the Hodag coaching staff is confident they'll stay competitive.

"Right now, I can definitely put a solid 11 on the field as far as starters are concerned, and probably up to 15 players deep, which is great for a varsity team," says Head Coach Dan Millot.

The coaching staff says the soccer team is still drawing fresh faces despite a low number of student athletes.

"We did get a few new faces this year, which I'm excited about," says Coach Millot. "They added not only athleticism, but they added speed and also some soccer talent, which is nice to see."

The boys' team will kick off their season against division rival Antigo on August 21st.
