Veterans honored through M60A3 army tank
WOODRUFF - A Wisconsin Army National Guard delivered a M60A3 Patton to the Northwoods a couple of weeks ago. Saturday, that tank received a formal dedication.

The Woodruff VFW had been looking for a way to make their post stand out.

The tank was transported from Hartford, Wisconsin to Woodruff.

One member of the Woodruff VFW 7898 Post felt today's dedication memorialized and honored all veterans. Part of the dedication was having a military plane fly over.

"The flyovers are to symbolize and memorialize all the efforts of veterans not only in World War II or Vietnam, but all wars," said VFW post 7898 member Dennis Hurst.

The crowd also enjoyed songs from a bagpiper.

Members hope this tank will shed light on their post. The impressive army tank sits next door to the post office in Woodruff.
