Missing La Crosse man found in river Submitted: 07/12/2014
Story By Associated Press

LA CROSSE - Divers have recovered the body of the 23-year-old La Crosse man who disappeared after boating with friends a few days earlier.

Authorities pulled the body of Shalim S. Augustine from the Black River on Friday evening. He'd been missing since Tuesday night.

Police say there were no visible signs of trauma. An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday.

He had gone boating with co-workers Tuesday night. Police say he'd been drinking but they didn't know whether he was drunk.

After the group docked, Augustine told his friends he was walking home. He was reported missing the following evening when he didn't show up to work.

Police say the case is an active death investigation. They ask that anyone with information contact them.
