EAGLE RIVER - Friday was a huge night of racing at Eagle River Speedway. 82 cars were competing - the most at the track in recent years. Some lucky kids got the chance to ride on the track during the National Anthem.
In a makeup feature - in the Pure Stocks, C.J. Hedges Junior of Tomahawk made a pass late in the race on the outside.
C.J. would go on to take the feature.
In another makeup feature in the Street Stocks... it was Jordan Curdey of Moose Crossing taking the checkered flag.
RHINELANDER - Looking back on his 28 years as airport director, Joe Brauer says he has a lot to be proud of.
"When we got the disabled passenger lift, the non-motorized one, we were very, very proud of that," said Brauer, who's worked as the airport director for 28 years. He's also been in the airline business for 20 years.
Now, the longtime Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport director will be passing things off to a familiar face.
